So the BBC have launched their new homepage after trialling it as a beta for quite a while. On the whole I think it's pretty cool, a smart clean design, and good fun to mess about with all the content customisation options. But, for the same reason I can't help thinking that I'm missing something important that my personal content selection isn't highlighting, and that it's somehow better to leave those kinds of editorial decisions to the professionals...
I've launched a new version of the site today, new design and new content. There are still a few dusty corners around, and I've got a lot of re-aligning and tweaking to do over the next few weeks, but i felt it was solid enough to unleash on the world!
One or two pages on the journal don't validate, it's nothing spectacular though, I'm using the new light-weight blogging engine Chyrp to power the journal now, it's pretty cool, very new, and currently undergoing a major rewrite, so I'm not getting too involved in the styling/details/validation of the journal until the new version is released in the next few weeks...
If you see anything odd let me know...
I love little creative details like this, mouseover the Chyrp "download" button for randomised javascript colours.
